Putting cheap and Dublin in the same sentence is a cute idea.
So are gold bars for a pound each.
The cheapest you'll get is Barnacles backpacker hostel and get a private room. It's a one minute walk down the hill into Temple Bar.
It's good, it's clean and tidy and you get a kitchen to use so you can cook a meal at 3am if you want.
You also get a laundry room and a common room with folks from all over the world and from all over Ireland and you get a card key for the room just like a hotel.
Budget hotels are listed here. For Dublin forget budget though. Four nights for £100 in a hostel or £300+ in a cheap(!) hotel.
It's real...no joking . It's Dublin

Small deposit up front and they will have it recorded when you arrive. No problems on five continents and over twenty years of using them for hotels and hostels.
Barnacles is OK, not a dump or a doss-house.

I have just come back from a hen weekend, we had a room of 11, 4 and 2.
The rooms were all clean, beds are comfy, staff are friendly.
There is only one bathroom in the room of 11, luckily I was in the 4.

They've got another one in Galway, right in the action on Quay Street. Very nice too. Oh lubly.

I met a lady from way out in the marshes of the north of Germany on the coach there from Dublin.
Phoned for a bed in Barnacles and she turned round from the seat in front and asked
"You make bed for sleep Galway hostel?"
"Yup. Three left they said . Here's the phone. I'll redial"
We had a great time together and we're still friends years later.......
I cooked a meal for us...proper Irish stew, meat properly browned, veg with texture not stewed to mush apple crumble for pudding cos it's quick and easy ..and she loved it.
I found out how to do her variety the next year, in a lonely cottage in the Friesland marshes by the sea and miles of mud for a shoreline and good fishing for plaice and sole

Never know with hostels.
In a Johannesburg backpacker hostel I got an invite to Namibia and it was gorgeous! Just a bit drier though away from the wetlands

Well I'm from the Us and my boyfriend lives in Dublin so i know quite a bit about the whole travel deal there, First I completely recommend going to Expedia.com and making yourself a custom plan, It tells you the entire price including fees and what not, and after you find a plan that fits your budget and go to trip adviser and find more info and reviews on the hotel you picked. May i just say that where the "Action" is isn't gonna be cheap, I'd suggest to just take public trans instead of having to blow all your money on the hotel your only going to sleep in probably if it's a girly weekend.
